Remember my post from last year where I said I have high expectations for EDX?
Well…EDX is back for a 4th staging and it’s doubling up with X². This time instead of one unforgettable night, X² will take over Grizzly’s Plantation Cove for a full day on July 2nd with its impressive lineup.
With a mix of local and international DJs and artistes, there’ll definitely be something for everybody. Beach Soca Fusion, the daytime beach party of X², will feature familiar acts like the Queen of Soca, Alison Hinds, Richie Ras and Narity, just to name few. From 10 p.m. onwards, the EDX Mainstage is going to get lit with EDX’s signature fireworks and an electric range of DJs that illustrates the diversity of EDM.
As you’d expect of EDX, the bill is big. This year the mainstage will have its most notable headliner to date, Trance veteran, Gareth Emery whose latest album debuted at number one on the iTunes Dance chart upon release. He’ll be joined by the new kings of Mad Decent, Bad Royale. Trust me, these guys are dope! Expect to hear dubstep and trap with a heavy dose of dancehall. Also on the lineup is Gazzo who will be bringing his electro house style and DJ TOFTE who will be returning to the EDX stage.
The beach location and amazing lineup creates something unique for both local fans of dance music and also offers a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors. Grizzly’s Plantation Cove in Ochi is just a short drive from Kingston but for those who don’t want to be stuck being the designated driver at a drinks-inclusive event, EDX does have a convenient shuttle service available. You can find out more info and register at edxjamaica.com.
Early bird tickets are already sold out so I’d head to yardticket.com or to your nearest Fontana Pharmacy to cop a pre-sold ticket before you miss out. Also, you can follow @edxjamaicaofficial on Instagram for a chance to win two free tickets.
See you on July 2nd!
